The USS NORTH CAROLINA Pen is created from Witness Wood® acquired by History Salvaged in the form of several pieces of Teak Deck that was removed and replaced during restoration and preservation efforts of this famous Battleship that witnessed every major Pacific Theatre offensive of World War II.
During World War II, NORTH CAROLINA participated in every major naval offensive in the Pacific area of operations and earned 15 battle stars.
Although Japanese radio announcements claimed six times that NORTH CAROLINA had been sunk, she survived many close calls and near misses with one hit when a Japanese torpedo slammed into the Battleship's hull on 15 September 1942. A quick response on the part of the crew allowed the mighty ship to keep up with the fleet. By war's end, the Ship lost only ten men in action and had 67 wounded.
The USS North Carolina Pen is handcrafted in a classically designed hefty Cigar Style ballpoint, made with Rhodium Hardware and Engraved USS North Carolina. It is intended to recognize those who participated in the preservation of our way of life during WWII and to honor those who served aboard the hallowed deck of the North Carolina.
All pens are handcrafted by Master Pen Craftsman and are made in America.
Each is individually hand made and each varies in look and feel both in grain and shape.
