Details and Provenance

History Salvaged is proud to offer our Brooklyn Bridge Nouveau Twist Ballpoint pen, made from a collection of wood we acquired from the Brooklyn Bridge Centennial Celebration Commission in preparation for the Brooklyn Bridge's 100th Anniversary Centennial Celebration in 1983 , which was removed from the Brooklyn Bridge during restoration.

The Brooklyn Bridge Nouveau Twist Ballpoint is not only an heirloom piece of "Witness Wood®" to be carried, used, and passed down to future generations, but also a work of functional art and craftsmanship that commemorates one of the great engineering feats in U.S. history.

Whether for display or function, this is a rare opportunity to own a one-of-a-kind, handcrafted piece of art, an heirloom that can be passed down to the next generation while only adding to the history that is the Brooklyn Bridge. When you consider the millions upon millions of people who have traversed this "Witness Wood®" as they crossed from Manhattan to Brooklyn and back, one can only wonder what stories the "Witness Wood®" used to create this work of art could tell!
