• Handcrafted HS Retro Rollerball featuring not pieces of the Shakers from the home of Dr. Samuel Mudd where he infamously treated John Wilkes Booth set in 22K gold plate and acrylic fittings.
• History Salvaged is fortunate to have been able to secure a few of the shakers (shingles) along with nails removed during restoration and sold by Dr. Mudd's grand daughter.
• Because the Original Construction wood shakers are thin, History Salvaged embedded pieces of the shakers in an acrylic cast enabling us to craft 2 pens with that are both art and an amazing annd rare piece of American and Civil War history.

Dr. Samuel A. Mudd House

History Salvaged has acquired several pieces of a lathe wood panel from St. Catherine, the home and plantation in Charles County Maryland given to Dr. Samuel Mudd by his father, Thomas Mudd, as a wedding gift and for his graduation from Baltimore  Medical College in 1857.

The home is listed as a National Register of Historic Places and remains in the Mudd Family.

Dr. Mudd’s grand-daughter did a private renovation prior to the home opening as a museum in 1983 and sold pieces of the removed paneling, wood and nails as souvenirs privately as well as in the house/museum in 1983. These pieces of Civil War and Lincoln assassination Witness Wood® are extremely rare & History Salvaged is fortunate to have been able to secure & and make this pen available.
