History Salvaged Cape May 2016 Christmas Ornament is a 4" oval ornament produced from wood that was salvaged from various Jersey Shore Boardwalks, with permission of the local authorities, when the boardwalks were destroyed by Superstorm Sandy as she made landfall in New Jersey on October 29, 2012 and decimated the Jersey Shore, Staten Island and beach towns on Long Island.
The Cape May 2016 Christmas Ornament features a Holly Wreath, the famous Cape May Lighthouse, an iconic Cape May Life Guard Boat and the beautiful beach! Merry Christmas 2016 is engraved across the top of the ornament with Authentic Jersey Shore Boardwalk Wood engraved in the sand.
The Cape May 2016 Christmas Ornament is the 3rd Cape May Christmas Ornament spanning the 5 years of our annual Christmas Ornaments, each reminding us that rebuilding continues as we all Restore the Shore, but also providing joy during the holiday season as we continue to rebuild and recover over the next couple of years.
Our Cape May 2016 Christmas Ornament can proudly be displayed year after year along with their magnets and ornaments to remind us all about the power of Mother Nature and the resilience of those of us who were affected by Sandy but are committed to rebuild, recover and restore.
